It cranks like it wants to start but don't

It sounds as if there's no gas getting to the engine
and when I push the pedal to help, it's like the
pedal is not pushing out gas

The pedal will not squirt the gas as this is fuel injected and it works from voltage. But it may be the fuel pump. Check fuel pump pressure, and make sure you hear the pump prime up before starting, IF not then it is an electrical issue with the pump.
