Power issue

Asked by Guru5BBL2 Jan 09, 2018 at 07:04 PM about the 2000 Ford Ranger

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck starts and idles good. My battery is good.
But I can't run any think like heat or lights. When I
press the brake to shift, utilizing the brake lights, it
dies. It starts but won't stay running. I tried to get it
to Auto Zone today to get a diagnostic test but
never made it. Could it be the voltage regulator or
the alternator? Please help.
