i dont think its a leak, it also splutters occasionally in third, the smell is v strong inside the car at different times.

The fuel is going somewhere and less than half is going though the engine. At $4.00 a gallon that is expensive.

If you can smell it, it's leaking.

i have a 99 ford escort lx 5 speed new tranny and clutch. the other day i was going up the hill started to chug like i was in to high of a gear, stuck it in first still contiuned pulled over turned it off now it wont start it cranks tho, I checked everything it is getting spark and fuel. and all fuses are good. anyone have a clue? 1 Answer
