what is a fender shield and how do i lower it

I have to change a water pump and it says i have to remove the right tire and wheel assembly and lower fender shield

Here is a link that shows pictures of where the water pump is located and how to remove it: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ab_auto_cooling_system/article/0,2021,DIY_13676_2276328,00.html A fender shield is at the front of the car and protects the front part of the car. Sometimes it is referred to as the grill. I think you should be able to remove the water pump without removing the fender shield. If you have to move it to get to the front of the engine then it probably unscrews on the inside. Good luck.
