Drivers wiper works - passenger doesn't what's wrong

when I left home this morning both wipers worked.  2 miles later passenger kinda jerked and quit.... what happened?

the linkage broke- or more likely, the arm stripped itself on the spindle- if you are trying to fix it yourself, first think: it is a mechanical system, with two wipers hooked to a single motor- then try to imagine what simple mechanical arrangement makes that possible- that is what you will find when you look-
