Has anyone has problems with ABS kicking in when not needed?

Asked by TMAUGSPURGER Oct 07, 2014 at 02:56 PM about the 2002 Dodge Durango

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can be slowing down to a stop on dry or wet pavement and my anti lock brakes will kick in for no reason.  Have almost had quite a few fender benders because of this.  No warnings come on.

Update - it is not my ABS system. I read on another site that it is my rear wheel locking up and causing screeching noise and car to jump. Had to go off the side of the road yesterday to keep from going into an intersection. Anyone heard of this before?
