My 2004 Dodge Durango, I think th ehead gasket blew...

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After my truck tried to over heat for a few days, it finally did. We topped off all the oils, and replaced the battery. It sounds like it wants to turn over and start, but it won't. And yes its gas in there too. Is it the Head Gasket???

Before you try to run it, check there isn't any coolant in the oil. If the gasket blew between the cylinders, it will run rough, if at all. However a blown head gasket won't stop an engine from cranking. A compression test of the cylinders will give you a better idea of what's going on. If you can't get the truck to a shop, and don't have the means to do the test yourself, hire a mobile mechanic.
