Engine light is on also battery light is on

I have a 2001 ford focus. The engine light came on
a few months ago. Now the battery light is on.
What is wrong with it?

Do a battery and alternator load test. YouTube. Probably alternator, but this is a symbol for charging system not operating to specs. I performed a test for a colleague at work in 5 minutes yesterday at work and determined alternator. A cheap voltmeter will do. YouTube has countless videos on this topic
