Approximately, how many miles can a 2001 Ford Focus zetec travel before it reaches its maximum

Asked by Piyo Oct 20, 2015 at 09:07 AM about the 2001 Ford Focus

Question type: General

just wondering how far the ford focus can go before it reaches it's maximum
amount of miles. My friends car's mileage is just reached 6 digits. I want to buy
his car, but he is also not sure how many miles it can go on.
Any idea guys?

Thats an open ended question It depends if you live in an Urban area, how well the car was maintained . lots of things. I suspect you will get at least another 50 K if it were maintained but you could be coming to the High maintenance zone with possible 14 year old car problems ie; emissions, timing belts , pumps etc.,,,, at this point price is the main factor if the car was well maintained

Holy Cow! I would think if the wind could wear away a rock then 300K would have worn the paint off the front

185 km on a 2004 TDI Focus ....change the oil every 10k ...(no problems with engine anyway)

2001 Zetec 1.4 over 160000 miles... Even though, I haven't changed the oil regularly for a period of 2-4 years a few years ago, only a few problems with the car that may occur in any younger car. Mainly because parts worn out (i.e. brake pads, discs, balljoints, shaft seals, ignition cables, spark plugs, etc.). The iB5 gearbox starts showing some problems with gear changing, but it was running on very low oil level for over a year. MTX-75 are supposedly more durable than iB5.

My 2000 Ford Focus Wagon, with the 4 cyl SOHC engine, has 208,666 miles on it. Holds it's oil, no fluid leaks, has plenty of power, and no major repairs or replacements. It's had proper maintenance throughout it's life, and I don't pamper it (nor do I abuse it). Hoping to get 300K+ out of it. Easy to work on, though, and parts are plentiful and cheap if I have to do something major to it.
