Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When stopped on a hill and I take your foot off the brake, my 2006 Charger R/T does not hold it's own, even a modest hill. Dealer said it is mfged that way to reduce rear-end collisions when the car is stopped.(No brake lights) Can this be changed?

Hi jbomb! Hey you know, I see a certain logic in that theory ... and that scares me ... but I'd seek a second opinion on that one. If that's truly the reason, I will bow with a surprised and embarrassed look, but ... Good luck!

More likely it's a design solution to extend the longevity of the transmission than it is the brake light story. However, I doubt there's much that can be done, as it involves idle speed and the torque converter. I suppose you could run a diagnostic on the tranny to be sure it is functioning properly.
