The car just died while I was driving and wouldn't do anything waited awhile and started up like nothing happened

It could also be a bad alternator. But start with battery and ask autozone what they think.

Ok it is probably the alternator. It was probably going bad before so it still allowed your vehicle to start a few more times but died as you were driving. It's probably completely out not. I'd try finding a cheap one, even good condition used and see if that won't work. Because it sound like what happened to my thunderbird and I had to get a new alternator then it worked like a champ
