Clear the codes with a scanner. Replace the air temp. sensor. Drive the vehicle to see if the codes come back.

Ok I have my son try that, do I clear the codes first then replace air sensor ? Or the opposite, and can I clear codes myself or do I need to take to a shop? Thanks so much.

You can clear the codes yourself if you have a scanner capable of doing so. Some info on the temp. sensor....P1193 CHRYSLER - Inlet Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High Condition... Possible causes; Faulty Inlet Air Temperature Sensor, Inlet Air Temperature Sensor harness is open or shorted, Inlet Air Temperature Sensor circuit poor electrical connection.

Just go to Auto Zone or a parts store and have the codes cleared. For some reason I am not allowed to use the word fre-. Also ask for a Air Inlet Temperature Sensor, tell them you have a p1193 code.
