weight and mpg

I have a 2008 chevy 2500 HD 6.0 crewcab 2wd..3;73 rea rend, I tow  a 10,000lb tongue pull TT right now and get about 8.5 to 9 mpg at 62 miles per hour. looking  at a 5th wheel that weighs 13,000lbs when I load it out , how much is that going to affect my mpg?  thanks for any help

Clearly you will get poorer mileage. There is the additional weight and the 5th wheel has more frontal area too which means more wind drag.

Hello, Dave i have f250 6.2 gas pulked a 33' prowler TT. 7000LB. 8.5 TO 9 MPG @ 65 OR 70 MPH 5TH Gear, I Just bought a 5th wheel same weight 3' shorter 3' taller. I got 10.8MPG @ 65MPH 6th gear in cruise control. Much easier tow better arrow dynamics best tow experinece i ever had.
