Big End Bearings

Your car's engine is probably a four cylinder with five main bearings, one at each end, three in the middle, that support the crankshaft, which attaches the rods and pistons. If it really needs replaced.....really....it would involve pulling the engine and doing a total rebuild while they're at it. ($5000). Symptoms would be a deep knocking sound while accelerating. Car would be high mileage, 200,000 plus. Neglected oil changes and hard life. Low oil pressure. Get a second opinion without talking about big bearings. I think it's BS, but if it's true, it's time to trade soon.
