changed serpentine belt car was starting before and after.Rerouted the wiring forcing away from serpentine attaching bolt holding alt and car would crank ,instrument gauge work but car not strating.

Check main fuse. Test light at the nut and stud in high current junction block will tell you if there is power to that point. If no power there, check main fuse. Especially if any tools were arced across the alternator from not unhooking battery first or if it went across both battery posts. That's what the main fuse is there for.
