Maybe the fuel pump wasn't your problem in the first place, did you check to see what the pressure is at the rail? Could be clogged injectors, are you getting spark? Any codes?

Spark,Fuel and compression are all you need to start. If your sure the pump has pressure (with it totality quiet ,seat-belt on so you don't get the ding-ding, turn the key on and you should hear the fuel pump run a few seconds,,then stop. If it does then your fuel pressure should be OK. ... so you need to make sure you have a spark. .... a common problem on older GM's is the crank pick up unit ,,,, but unless you are simi-skilled you will need help
