ive got a 2002 ford explorer. it started running bad. almost like the spark plugs fowled out. so i turn it off. turn it back on and it shuts off. it wont turn over. i think it seized. n e ideas?

if it wont turn over,could be a spun rod bearing.

Check my post from a couple of month ago about my 2003. Do not go through the expense of changing the front and rear timing chains. Resign yourself to purchasing a reman engine. Do not get a rebuilt as they are rebuilt up to the point of the previous failure.

ok I got a 2003 Ford Explorer if I jump it off the solenoid it starts but if I use the key it doesn't do nothing you don't even try to crank over could it be a bad starter 8 Answers

OK i'm stumped. I have a 2001 ford explorer(please keep comments about fords to yourself ). I've had 4 episodes where i was driving along with no issues and the even though i am excellerating the car stops running and the stalls out. Once i pull it to the side of the road and try to start it it back fires and qcts like it it out of gas but if you wait 30 plus minutes it will start and run for a bit longer then repeats itself a couple more times but then it will runs for days until it does it again. The check engine light is not on but the check gas cap is on. we replaced the gas cap and it is still on. The first time this happened I had it towed and the mechanic tightened the serpentine belt and fixed the manifold gasket. Does anyone have any ideas???? 14 Answers
