Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just brought my escape in yesterday thinking I was having problems with my transmission. I am waiting to hear what they come up with but after online research I dont want to spend a ton of money if thats not the problem. Symptoms: Check engine light was on but had it reset and then came back on a few weeks later, then barely noticable slow shifting into 1st and 2nd, fine in 3rd,  after warmed up ran great with o/d light blinking only for a minute or 2 minutes after starting. Now its very slow to shift (if at all) with o/d light blinking all the time. Most of my research shows solenoid, fuse, or speed sensor...thoughts and advice welcome :0)

It would be much more helpful if we knew what the engine codes you cleared said. This sounds more like an electronics issue then a transmission issue but changing the fluid and filter may help or even fix the problem. This is relatively a cheaper repair option.
