Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The problem I have had for a while is when first started the engine would lose revs and maybe stall under braking-I could live with that but lately I can be at a standstill and the engine will just cut out.soon after I could be moving and it would cut out for just a second causing an occasional backfire -leading to the back baffles being destroyed ! The latest development is that after a falter sometimes the ecu warning light comes on but if I stop and restart the car 9 times out of 10 it goes out.do you think this could be a case of cleaning out the icv or do you think the worst that the ecu is faulty. If icv where is it located and is it much of a job to clean ?thanks

check your throttle body for carbon and maybe clean it out. Also check vacuum ports around throttle body for carbon blockage and fix Hope this helps

if this problem is still persisting it can be as simple as the sensors ie cam sensor may be loose or replacing bulbs with the wrong type is another amazingly stupid things make the calibra stop going forwards
