1987 f150 4.9l
I have a 1987 f150 4.9l that starts up runs good
then sputters out and dies what can cause that
besides fuel pressure (witch is good) the egr and
IAC all good
Ignition coil overheat, Ignition module goes open due to internal heat, distributor pickup coil intermittent thermal open. As all three are very common failures I would replace them, especially if they have never been replaced. Other problems that have been known to occur is the ECM power relay, the fuel pump power relay and the ignition switch.
Reman. Distributor might be a cheaper way to go.
Don't go with a reman distributor, have seen remans have bad pickup coils cause that is one part they never replace.
I changed most of them parts I will check the ones I didn't change thanks for the info
