Where could these two circuits be in contact?

Asked by Puzzzled Oct 18, 2017 at 09:11 AM about the 1965 Lincoln Continental

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1965 Lincoln Continental worked fine when parked  24 years ago.  Squirrels must have re-wired it since.  High beam switch activates the starter and high beams.  Starter switch activates the high beams and the starter.   When dimmer is on low,  no problems.  Installed new dimmer switch - no help.  Disconnecting the neutral safety switch does not change the problem.    Where are these two wires likely to be in contact with each other?  Must be 200 ft of wiring harness  to dissect !

I would check under the hood where the wiring harness connects to the back of the fuse block. Also look under the dash panel near the fuse block. If it was a mouse or something chewing on the wires you should be able to see damage to the wiring harnesses.
