2003 Thunderbird won't start

Asked by danjameson Jan 20, 2015 at 10:41 AM about the 2003 Ford Thunderbird

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Turned key and nothing.  Lights work, steering wheel goes into position. It isn't the battery - jumped it and nothing.  It's a 40,000 mile car and never had this problem before. Can anyone help?

Battery's good and connections are cleaned and tight? and the cables to the starter and ground are good ? Then you need to trace your starter power for whether you have a starter relay before your starter's solenoid. Your solenoid could be loose, your positive cable connection could be at fault on those. You want to verify your starter pigtail gets power. Then you have a good starter main cable connection. while someone operates the controls. Then tap on it. If there was a problem, back track up the wires to see if a starter relay is in use. see if it gets power and engages and power comes out the other side, tap on it ? Let us know how it's going or what parts are in use on yours.
