Hello, are you taking about a automatic or manual tranmission? If automatic, you probably have the 5R55W, in which case you "may" be able to use one from a 05+ mustang. HOWEVER, the issues you will run into are whether or not the bellhousing will bolt up to your block. IF a standard transmission, you would probably want to use a T5/T45 equivalent from the mustang. However you may still have the bellhousing mating issues. Long story short, although the gearing would be completely different it would still work, however the ultimate deciding factor would be if there are bell-housing adapters avaiable to make this work without having to move or modify the transmission support cross-member.
Thanks! I actually have the 5R44E transmission though, I was told there is one that would work and fit properly but idk whether or not there right. I haven't been able to find any defiant answers on which transmission to even look at.
