Should I have the service station replace my calibers for free?

Asked by Clafay Jul 21, 2014 at 09:38 AM about the 2003 Ford Focus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Ford Focus just had front brakes pads and resurfaces rotors. When bringing it home
there was a bad smoking smell so we turned around and brought it back to the service
station. Now they want to replace my calibers because the calibers are clamping onto the
brake and not releasing. Is this a problem they caused by working on the front brakes?

The same Ford Focus.....They came back with a 500 dollar bill and said I will need new rotors and calibers. This is after they just resurfaced the rotors

Not likely. But they should have known. As for the$500.00 bill, that's a little high. Are you handy? It's not a hard job. Google Advanced Auto Parts coupons. Go on line and order the parts you need. Use the coupon code. Save a ton of cash. And if you're not handy, look on Craigslist for someone to do it for you. If you didn't drive to.far you MAYBE able to use the rotors and pads.
