opel gamma goes over normal heat temp

Hi there,hope you can help me,my Opel  Gamma 1.6 Sport suddenly gover the
100 mark on my heat gauge,what seems t be the problem,only started doing
that this morning.

Thermostats do fail. Radiators do get plugged up. Head gaskets can and do blow.

If it's temperamental I'd go with a new thermostat , don't go cheap buy OEM dealer part . A cheap one will produce the same results making you think it's something else .If it happens soon after start up a compression test may be in order Look for white exhaust smoke and goop under the oil fill cap

Why do people flake out over such simple things. Obviously you don't know cars, so have a mechanic who can actually see the car diagnose this. In a seventeen year old car, it's likely a bad thermostat or water pump. Just get it fixed... properly. And get on with your life.
