will a dodge 318 engine out of a 1980 d100 be installed in a 1966 d100. it currently has a 225 slant 6.It has the manual 4 speed on the floor. If the 318 wont fit, what engine would fit in easily?

There's no problem with it fitting, you just have to have the right motor mounts. a cursory glance on the web shows there are several motor mounts available.

That's right, but remember in the 80's your dealing with low horsepower low compression emission heavy engines so a 318 may not be your answer, to get the bottom end your going to need at least a 360 and if I remember right your tranny won't work with a 360. Or if your wallet is full try a new 318 crate engine, those will give you the ponies you want.
