Shifter will not come out of park

When pushing the shift button I here a clicking sound in the dash. Can only
shift out of park using the overide button

Bad neutral safety switch,usually at break pedal,or on the transmission.

Or brake light switch or fuse. Get somebody to stand behind your car to see if your brake lights work. If not, that is the problem
