2000-2004 Mustang pros & cons?

Asked by Ryley Jun 09, 2014 at 03:05 PM about the 2004 Ford Mustang

Question type: General

I am interested in possibly buying a Mustang, my budget is around $3500, more or
less, and I found several 2004 Mustangs within that price range that seems to be in
great condition. I want to know what are all the pros and cons about this car so that I
can get an idea of what to expect, or ask the owner, etc. Any and all information will be
appreciated. Also, if you know, what is it like (pro & con) compared to the 2000, 2001,
2002, and 2003 Mustangs. Thanks so much!

I recently bought an 04 afew days ago, as of now i have no problems mine was about 6k and had 88k miles. For 3500 any car u get will have tons of miles amd probably need afew thousand for extra work. The pros are it looks sexy, fun to drive, eveyone likes mustangs, roomy if u dont count thr back seat. The cons are the interior is a bit plasticy, i dont mind but some people dont like it.The 2004 is nicer than the others cause it has a badge tht says 40th aniversary where the others just have a mustang.

One thing you have to check is the seals. Like the rear main seal, etc. Rear main seals are a common thing and exhaust manifolds. Make sure you ask for any repair receipts. Listen for ticking. If someone thinks the interior is like plastic, They obviously haven't checked out some of the newer cars. Even some Porsche's have received complaints. I sold a new car for my Mustang. The interior is a heck a lot better than the new junk I sold and more reliable.
