Hesitation

Asked by GuruBF815 Jan 21, 2019 at 12:09 PM about the 1981 Nissan 280ZX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced the injectors mass air flow meter plugs, wires electronic
ignition,
fuel pump, pressure regulator, TPS,  the engine starts and runs  well at idle,
but hesitates on acceleration, and  backfires.
The only way I can stop the hesitation is to restrict  the return fuel to raise the fuel pressure.

I had the exact same issue and it was driving me nuts. I had no check engine light.2001 Toyota Avalon 3.0 V6. My car was hesitating but more like a chug feeling only on acceleration. The harder the acceleration the more noticeable it was. My wife drives the exact same car and it runs perfect. So I thought I would start swapping parts, mass air flow sensors etc. but one thing at a time. It ended up being the bank 2 02 sensor that's located at the front of the engine. I was so happy, my car runs perfect now since I replaced it. I had no issues at idle or low speed acceleration, no rotten egg smell as everyone on here describes.
