63 Galaxie 500 Convertible engine swap.
I currently have a 63 Galaxie convertible with a 289 with minimal horsepower. I
am looking for recommendations for the engine I should consider a swap.
Thanks!

by the pic, it looks really nice, so the best thing you can do for true value is to leave it alone. But if you desire an engine swap, in anything pre 1976, you can do anything. The car's not set up for a big block, that takes heavier front suspension, so you could just get a bigger small block, like a 350 or an older 352. You could also get a new crate engine from ford, or even a new engine-trans combo, but those are costly... We today can hardly remember when a 289 or a 283 was a relatively powerful engine. So maybe we shouldn't think about todays power and remember that an old car with a small engine is still a delight to own and to drive.

I wouldn’t, just fix the 289. Could probably use a complete refresh of the engine and transmission.
