What could be clicking sound coming from dashboard of my ford focus?

Asked by lsu_2325 Mar 23, 2015 at 05:27 PM about the 2004 Ford Focus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 ford focus makes this clicking noise and the headlights and dashboard lights all flicker with each click. Sometimes it shuts my car off and I cant start it again. I have to wait like 10 to 15 mins before trying again. I'll get out and check the battery cables and try and crank and it comes back on. It clicks the most during the summer time. Idk if that has anything to really do with it. I have had a new alternator and new battery and still clicking. Even had the battery cables cleaned. Would appreciate the help because its frustrating when your car is not getting dependable anymore and I have a tight budget

It's the lighting control module under the dash, it's a non serviceable part, the only fix is to replace it.

I had the same problem and it led to the car melting down the wires which can cause your car to just stop when you are driving and then all the things that are automatic in the car also will not work so you are stuck in your car probably on fire. You need to get this checked ASAP!
