Depends on the engine that comes with it... was a bit of a discussion on this in another thread, but if I remember 300 hp is the most it makes from a supercharged 4-cyl engine. It doesn't specify where the hp is measured from though... I'm not sure if it was ever definitively said weather it's the Honda or GM motor used in the supercharged model, or if it's more relative to where you're ordering from that decides your motor.
ok from memory, they all run modified honda civic engines, the new ones i think they are the k series engines, not the b series. start of with a base level of 200hp which is essentially the stock honda motor, then there is a 240hp version that has been massaged by ariel. At the top of the scale is the 300hp supercharged version. vtec + supercharger = mmmmmmmmmm
There is a 500 hp limited edition version in development! "Atom 500 will feature the RS Performance 2.4-liter 40-valve supercharged V8 driving through a six-speed transmission with flat-shift ability. And just in case the Ariel Atom doesn't look extreme enough, the V8 version will get a bunch of carbon fiber bits and a different color scheme. Considering that the existing Honda-sourced 300-hp supercharged four gets the Atom up to sixty in under three seconds, the 500-hp version will melt your face off."
damm the 500hp ariel is going to be a bullet dammm
sense this is newly posted in... the european spec atom has the same engine as the civic type-r, tuned to give about 300 hp the base is 160 and the american version is a little wider, slightly heavier ( like 50 pounds or so) and has the same engine as the supercharged cobalt ss with 300 hp
Honda is the sole provider of engines for the Atom now. No more Chevies. The Atom is crazy enough as it is. The 500 is going to be insane can anyone say Nerburgring run? ;P
FN VTEC KIDS YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IT DOES I BET!!! OR WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED FOR>>>...
