check for any looseness, when closed, hold snug and see if light is off .if so adjust tighter at latch

Are you sure it just doesn't say 'back' & you are interpreting it as rear?

i had the same problem turns out there are 2 small wires going directly to the latch when i disconnected them the light on my dash went out i am guessing but these 2 wires are the sensor wires unlike most doors for cars there is no button that triggers when the door is closed everything els works locks lights ... ect so im just gonna leave it unplugged and call it fixed till it shows some other sign that it isnt fixed
