Ford Freestyle Brake rattling

Asked by Thumper2 Sep 15, 2010 at 12:56 PM about the 2005 Ford Freestyle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just had the dealer do a complete disc brake job on my wife's 2005 Freestyle. Now wehn she drives on the 1/2 dirt road to the state highway the brakes rattle but noise goes away when light pressure is applied to brake. Went back to dealer for shims but problem persists. Any suggestions??

after a while when the pistons push back onto the pads it should stop.on a 1/2 mile dirt road, anything can rattle.

Drive slowly stopping with parking brake 6 times this will adjust rear brakes, stop rattling. Topjimmy.
