1992 Cavalier air compressor clutch will not engage when air is turned on, fuse is good. Any Ideas? Thanks

low on R 134 A or bad low pressure switch.

Thanks for the info. I've been on vacation...will look at those items this weekend.

Might be a bad ac pressure switch. locate it on your vehicle and put a paper clip in both sides of the connector. if the ac clutch engages, the switch is bad (they usually cost under $20)

That is of course assuming that the system is full of refrigerant.

At your suggestion, I added some R12 and that fixed it. Thanks so much for the info.

Think I figured mine out yesterday. bad connector on the pressure switch. $66.00 at Autozone. Goinna try salvage yard first but prolly buy it from rockauto.com, Standard brand S619 3-pin connector for around $20 with shipping.
