How do I know that the VIN # is telling me its a true Z28 emblems are missing and engine says SS on top and tittle just says chevy camaro

It should have a "P" in the 8th spot in the vin. This indicates the LT1 5.7-liter engine used in the Z28 versions. But if its a v6 its the base. It seems all v8's were Z28.
