Absolutely love this bug of a car. Zippy and fun to drive.
Downside is loud road noise and engine sounds like a diesel truck grumbling away Sep 17, 2021

This smart is a great deal for the mileage it had on it. Not to mention the price is great. The reason I want to go from an SUV to a 2 seater like the smart car is because of the gas Id save. 39 mpg on the highway is awesome. Plus when I got into a smart fortwo I couldnt believe how roomy it is. And cute. Also made by Benz so the paint job is wonderful. I love love this one. Second choice was the fiat pop car. But the smarties is my favorite. Top off in summer and warm cozy in winter. Has so many great features I cant list them all. Try for yourself.Oct 09, 2020

great car for getting around in the city. fine for freeway driving, not the best for climbing hills and high speed work but overall, a fine commuter. handling and braking are great - but acceleration is not very inspired... needs about 100 more horses to be a killer!Sep 02, 2014

Never let me down and always ready for fun. Easy to maintain and great on gas. Surprising on just how much you can fit inside, especially with passenger side fold down seat. The car also did better then most front wheel drive cars in the snow.Nov 15, 2013

My wife commutes daily in the Smart. She loves it. The EPA rates this at 39 highway but we have never, since getting past the break-in period, had less than 40 mpg on mixed driving. Typically 42 or there abouts. We don't do long highway trips because the ride is punishing after a while. This is strictly for commuting (22 miles) to work and running to the grocery store. And for that it is great.Oct 20, 2013

Fab little City Car. Limited Ed. GB-10 adds some nice extras. Very fast round town
turns heads and most of all it makes me and the girlfriend smile when we drive it.
Only one of its type in Aberdeen as far as I know.Oct 31, 2011

Transmission shifts like a stick shift but is an automatic, which is great if you are use to driving a manual car. Engine has only 71 BHP but can be greatly increased by changing out air filter to a K&N, air intake hose, exhaust manifold, different muffler and adding a turbo kit which you can get either a stage 1,2, or 3 turbo. This car is great weaving in and out of traffic, going in tight places other cars cannot go and turning around when other cars have to back all the way up. Plenty of people are very inquisitive about this car. Sometime this can be annoying and other times it can be fun.Nov 11, 2010

A zippy little car
Does well in the highway
Great gas mileage
Automated Manual Transmission
Computer does the clutching in manual mode. The computer does the
gearshifting and clutching in automated mode)

Well built, extremely solid cabin
Dent resistant exterior
Double rollcage (There are two pipes one inside the other for
durability)
Extremely small parking spaces are not a problem
Bumper-to-bumper traffic are not a problem
Very small turning radius
Does well with sharp turns

Many performance upgrades are available via aftermarket
Turbo upgrade is available for it
Cons:
Needs more POWER! Even after that..needs more!
Scared to drive it at first, but once you are used to it, the fear goes
away.

Performance- nothing special. 65HP Naturally Aspirated Kawasaki 3-cyl.
Build- Decent. Outside is put together really well, inside consist of alot of plastics, but is quality built none the less.
Appearance- car is less that 7 foot long. Turns heads.
Cost- Premium only, but 35-40 in town, over 50 on the highway.
Car is a blastNov 12, 2009

Fun and functional, surprisingly spacious and safe, affordable and economical, colorful and customizable, easy to park in small spaces, good gas mileage, standard features are impressive, and additional options like heated leather seats are under a thousand dollars extra, plus loads of smart accessories to choose from, great deal!Jun 19, 2009

Great little bomb around car. Acceleration is ok if you
use the car in manual mode. Upshift, release the
accelerator and reapply the accelerator. The plastic
panels are a brilliant idea. The powertrain could be
more efficient as we were obtaining only 39 mpg. Jan 03, 2009

This car makes me so happy. I got it and as soon as I
stepped inside, I started smiling. The color and the
music system and the way it drives are so awesome.
You can drive it automatic OR manual, but either way
there's no clutch! I'm so happy I got it. It makes my
life.Aug 31, 2008

Extra small doesn't mean unsafe. $11,500 gets you into the most fuel efficient gas only car on the market. I have driven this car 3 times and am now in line for it. Very nice. This is not a sports car. This is a city commuter. Its a bit slow to start, but is fast enough for highway use. Rated 35-40mpg, but some have reported 50+mpg. Great for anyone. Im 5ft 8 inches 150lbs, and fit nicely with my large girlfriend. There are videos of taller and larger people fitting nicely. The transmission is an automated manual. That means no clutch for stop and go traffic. It also has a sequential shifter, so you don't have to worry about which gear it is in, just up or down. It has a light on the gauge that tells you when to shift for maximum mpg. This is a lovely car, so dont knock it before you try itJul 19, 2008

Well everyone knows that I love my little fizzle.
She is nippy (surprises some people), now has fab
build quality compared to my old smart and if you
drive sensibly its very economical. Its now my second
smart and i absolutely love it.

My dad owns this car. It would be pretty nice if you have to parallel park in the city or something, but that's about it. He loves it, but it's just not my style.Apr 02, 2008

Fantastic Car this does everything and more once you get behind the wheel.

I own one of these and I found it absolutly facinating! You don't have the feeling of being in a small car after driving for five minutes. So much for those who called it a golf cart! Snobbery!!!!
In the city it is MARVELOUS but it can handle highway speeds as well . I drove it at 90 mph for five hours on a trip and was NOT tired!
I am used to drive a Chevy Blazer , that is quite different . I just love it and would HIGHLY recommend it ! And it has the reliability of "Mercedes" Need I say moreFeb 24, 2008
