Electric pickup trucks felt like fantasy in the late 2010s, but there are several models available heading into the 2026 model year, including the Chevrolet Silverado EV. The truck offers staggering performance and acceleration numbers, strong towing capabilities, and a range of clever features that make it more useful and easier to live with than the standard pickup truck.

What’s New for the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV
Chevy introduces a new Trail Boss trim for 2026, which offers 35-inch all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, unique badging and exterior accents, and auxiliary switches inside to power lights, winches, and other equipment.
Design
The Silverado EV takes a different approach to pickup truck styling than its gas counterpart. It features a body style reminiscent of the Chevrolet Avalanche pickups from years earlier, with a large rear pillar and less boxy overall shape. The Trail Boss trim sets itself apart from the rest of the line with red tow hooks, black exterior trim, and those beefy all-terrain tires.
Powertrain
The base Silverado EV Work Truck (WT) comes with two electric motors making 510 horsepower, while the Trail Boss sees up to 725 ponies. The range-topping LT delivers 760 horsepower, and all trucks come standard with all-wheel drive. Range varies from 460 kilometres in the Work Truck Standard Range to 793 km on the Work Truck Max Range. The Trail Boss features a uniquely tuned suspension system with more hardcore damping and better rebound.

Interior
The five-seat Silverado EV’s interior ranges from super basic to super plush. The WT has a sparsely equipped cabin, while the LT offers leather, heated and ventilated front seats, and more. While the WT’s synthetic leather upholstery and basic design may feel a bit underwhelming for everyday drivers, the surfaces are designed to be easy to clean and sturdier to withstand the challenges of the job site.
Technology
For 2026, all Chevy Silverado EV trims come with the 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, which includes navigation, voice recognition, and SiriusXM radio. However, it does not include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. An 11-inch digital instrument cluster is also standard. The LT and Trail Boss trims also include wireless phone charging and an available Bose audio system. Chevy also left a good number of physical controls in place, letting passengers adjust climate settings, audio volume, and other features without fiddling with a touchscreen or touch-based controls.
