The car is great for being a 2009 model. It rides really good & the back seats recline. It rides like a Lexus. It’s a well built car. The factory radio needs to be replaced with something more modern. Dec 31, 2023

Pros-Lexus in disguise. Quiet, powerful, comfortable, safe, reliable. Fuel efficient for size. Great value for price. Simple construction. Understated. The king of toyota.
Cons- rare. Back seats wont fold down for trunk cargo. Shiney dashboard reflects light. Dec 26, 2023

The 2010 Toyota Avalon is a solid choice for those seeking a comfortable and reliable sedan. Its spacious interior, refined ride, and strong performance make it a compelling option in its segment. If you prioritize comfort and dependability without compromising on style and performance, the Avalon is definitely worth considering.Nov 25, 2023

My 2006 Toyota Avalon limited has been going great at 239,000 miles. The 6 cylinder engine is bulletproof along with the same engine on my 2008 Lexus es350. The es350 has 148,500 and going strong!!! Love both of them the Avalon has been the best car I have ever owned. Low maintenance and good gas mileage you can’t beat it. Jun 17, 2023

lots of power, reasonable mpg for a large sedan with a reliable 3.5 V6 - 22-26 city and 28-31 hwy (in my own driving experience) with 4 different model trims to choose from you can get just about any feature you want from that particular model. XL, XLS, Touring and Limited. If its been regularly maintained it will not let you down.Jan 23, 2021

This car has every feature I was looking for and many more. Drives smoothly with plenty of zip. Was a very good value and mileage is well below yearly average. Sits 5 comfortably with plenty of leg room and head space. Would compare with any higher end luxury car like Lexus.Jan 18, 2021

2005 Toyota Avalon XLS. Te features found on this car are comparable to or exceeds those found on similar luxury cars. The car rides smoothly, has a smoothe transmission, and very economical engine. It is very powerful with a 268 horse power 3.5 liter 6 cylinder engine that purrs, The interior is very quiet, I would happily buy another Avalon whenever I need to change my car. Dec 02, 2020

This is my 3rd Avalon. I purchased this 08 used because I traded in my 05 for an SUV back in 2010 and I missed the Avalon. If you like gadgets, you are going to like the Avalon. I like the LED turn signals in the mirrors, the puddle lamps, heated and cooled front seats (if you go on long trips in hot weather, you will be amazed what a difference it makes to have air circulation on your back). The back seat is enormous, so when we go places with friends, there is plenty of space for them to put their legs out even with the front seats all the way back. The back seats also recline a bit and the doors open very wide. The trunk is huge and even with all the space offered in this car, it still gets 23-30 mpg. I typically average about 22, but I also let it idle a lot (eating lunch in the car).
The laser guided cruise control allows you to set a speed (in 5mph increments) and it will automatically slow you down if you come upon another vehicle going slower than you. It will maintain your distance and speed from the vehicle ahead of you until they are no longer an obstacle. The car will then speed back up to your preset. If you are interested in the laser guided cruise control, it is available in the 05-09, then in the 13 and newer models. You can identify the models with this option by the under-bumper grille. The car's right hand side near the fog light will look differently than the left. There will also be an extra button on the steering wheel under the “speak” button. If you happen to purchase an Avalon with the laser cruise, you can disable it and use the conventional cruise instead but pushing the cruse control lever forward for 1 second. The laser cruise does not stop the car. It will only slow you to about 27 mph and then will alert you that it is shutting off. Downsides are that it may slow you more than it needs to in merging traffic. This can be over ridden my lightly pressing on the gas, but it can be an annoyance. Also, it will not work if you have your wipers on ... about 3 swipes of the wipers and it shuts the system off.
If you live in a snowy area, I would recommend that you purchase designated snow tires. It handles well in the snow with the appropriate tires, but acceleration and deceleration can be problematic with all-season tires.Dec 22, 2014

Car accelerates smoothly. Brakes are slightly softer for a luxury feel. Always felt safe driving this car with family and very fun to drive. Interior is also very nice with nice leather seats and wood grain dashboard including door handles. Apr 19, 2014

If you are on the fence thinking about buying a used Avalon, just do it. I loved this car, it was trouble free (I bought it new, had it for 5 years) and I loved driving it. I have considered buying a used one as a second car just because I loved it so much.Jul 18, 2013

We have driven Toyota Camry's or Avalons for almost 30 years. The Avalon brings the reliability of the Camry to a larger and more luxurious platform. The rear seat legroom is unmatched in it's class. I don't think you can get a better vehicle for the price.Feb 23, 2013

Great family car for long-legged family, as seats are comfortable with plenty of legroom front and back. Good gas mileage for 75 mi per day commute by highway. Handles well. Seats in back as well as front recline and are comfortable for long rides.Feb 02, 2013

This Toyota Avalon is great when entering or merging with traffic. Cruise control is helpful and the front seats are very comfortable. Lumbar support and heat when you need it, especially during the winter mornings. Spacious interior both in the front and back seats.Sep 18, 2012

My Avalon is awesome! It is an amazingly comfortable traveling car. The rear seats have more room than any other car I've owned or driven. Three car seats fit comfortably. The car has power and pickup, it can pass with ease in a tight spot. It gets great gas mileage for V6, I average 22 mpg. The interior is pretty, silver/cream/tan. It has a 6 CD changer and a great sound system. Nice sunroof. I've loved my car.Aug 08, 2012

and synthetic oil. Easy to drive,
everything where you reach it, smooth
quiet and comfortable.Rear passenger seat

car is great love the sound, engine is powerful, more to love in one car. reminds me of my 04 BMW 745IL. one thing is that it gets 18MPG in city and 25MPG highway i don't even know how they put that it gets high 30's. overall is a great luxury car if you are into luxury.Oct 19, 2009

My baby is a dream. She is smooth, responsive, beautiful, comfortable and other great qualities.
It is a very well built car with lots of class. She brings me about 24-25 mpg in town, and just over 30 on the road. That is including some 75-80 mph areas on last couple of trips.
I have had her over a year and am still finding out goodies. She is lots of fun. She has lots of room and everyone has commented how much space they have anywhere they sit. I like the automatic back window shade and how the mirrors tint green at night when lights come in bright. Oct 02, 2008

This car has a nice look from in and out. The interior design is much better than the camry. Perfornace is pretty good not bad for a big luxury car. cost is not bad you just have to bargain with them and get the best deal u can get. especially when you have good credit.Aug 19, 2008
