The GMC Yukon XL doesnt have all the features of the Denali nor the 6.0L horse. It does quite well, very well with the 5.3L which gives it a minor MPG advantage over the 6.0L. Aside from the step down in the amenities from the Denali and the 6.0L of either the Denali or the 1500, this is by far an awesome vehicle as either a cargo or people mover. The 5.3L is powerful enough for most towing needs. Apr 24, 2020

I have had several Suburbans and Yukon XLs over the years, with many different seating and power configurations. This is by far my favorite for "on road". The Denali, although the name implies differently, is a road vehicle. It sits much lower than the Z71s of the same model, even when outfitted with 20" wheels as I did with mine. The rear coil springs and air suspension is very comfortable and the interior is quiet while traveling at highway speeds. The 2nd row captains chairs are comfortable and give plenty of leg room for the passengers there, and with these being heated, they are just as comfortable as the front seats. The 3rd row, although a bench in this model, is adequate for adults and comfortable for kids. When additional storage is needed, the 3rd row folds flat for optimum use of space. The 6.0 has a wide powerband and is reliable for the long haul. Overall, I love this vehicle.Apr 07, 2014

This has been a great family vehilce. Having a DVD entertainment system has been a plus for long trips. Has been a very dependable vehicle for my wife to drive over 230 miles one way to work. Very safe vehicle.Mar 20, 2014

Nothing else like it in full size SUV. You will only spend more $$$ for the Escalade. Lots of room. Would never consider the smaller version. You can't haul people and groceries, or luggage what's the point??? Don't get a Ford or Lincoln.Dec 18, 2013

The leather and power everything. It has alot of towing power. Great for family trips with lots of room for everything. You feel very safe in the SUV on the road everywhere you go. People don't pull out in front of you very often. Jan 26, 2013

This truck was purchased used and has the 8.1L Vortec V8 so the towing capacity is amazing. The gas mileage however is bad, but then it's a huge heavy beast. The ride is good. Overall I am happy with the vehicle.Nov 21, 2012

10 years old and going strong. Paint holding up well 60,000 miles on original brakes. Easy to drive. Good visibility. On Star no longer supported (analog). Reasonably quiet on road. Love the 500 cubic inch mill. Daily driver. Highly recommend.

We bought this truck used and absolutely love it. It it extremely comfortable and I highly recommend the heated seats. I have never owned anything this big, but I found driving it to be very easy. I was impressed by the turn radius - it turns pretty tight for how big it is. We have not taken it off road yet. We haven't had a single problem with it and the previous owner was pretty hard on it, so that's good. I love that the 3rd row of seats both folds down and is removable. The middle seat is split with 1 side folding down to allow people to get into the 3rd row. I've found that to be a perfect spot for our dog when we have cargo in the back. I'm also impressed by the amount of room left in back when the 3rd seat/row is in use - its more space than my mini van.Jan 30, 2010

Handles horrible, but it's a truck and is good at truck things. Hauls kids, We used it this summer to haul 1/2 ton of river rock for a landscaping project. We used the load leveling suspension and it worked well. This truck has the towing package with larger brakes that are very expensive ceramic pads and larger rotors. Sep 21, 2009

Not one thing wrong to say about it. $59K price tag, Allison Tranny, 6.0L Vortech with 340hp, g80 locking diffs, all wheel drive, all heated seats, four zone climate control, seating for 7, can tow the 9500lbs boat without flinching, automatic self-leveling rear suspension keeps it nice and level all the time, bose 13 speaker system, Michelin XC all purpose tyres: quiet and comfortable yet are brilliant in rain snow gravel dirt and mud, 20 mpg on motorway, 14 mpg in city. Couldn't ask for a better vehicle 70K miles and was only at a dealership once: when they were taking it off the truck so I could buy it. Never used the warranty once, nothing has ever gone wrong with it. No squeeks or rattles either, tight as a drum!Apr 16, 2008

It just keeps going and going and going. This thing will not freaking die. All i do to it is basic maintenance and it seemingly wont die. Every single year im convinced it is its last, but it keeps rolling. Apr 01, 2008
