We loved this car, but it was "Disposable". Things broke. We sold it when it was 12 years old because it didn't make sense to keep putting money into a car that our family didn't really fit in. it didn't have a powerful engine, and it didn't run great, but it was fun to drive.Mar 12, 2011

Reliable basic transportation. It's a total 'stripper' with pretty much no factory options...no power windows/mirrors/door locks, no air conditioning, no expensive bits that need constant attention, it doesn't even have a tachometer. And it's ridiculously fun to drive, lightweight and nimble (in it's way), only 12 or 13 feet long so any hole in traffic is big enough, and it has a 5-speed stick shift. Hard plastics and cheap feeling materials abound in the interior but it is the rock-bottom model in Hyundai's lineup from 1998. It's cheap as hell to run, parts are cheap, working on it is easy, and it gets 37mpg in the city even when I drive it like it's stolen! Insurance is also pretty easy on the wallet. For what it is, it's a great little car. And as a driver of a highly customized M3, I love that people don't get all bent out of shape when I'm zipping through traffic in this car. I seem to get a pass no matter what I do where I would get honked at and shown everyone's favorite finger for doing the exact same things in my BMW.Nov 10, 2010
