Fast (check), Luxurious (check), Safe (check) High quality (check), Exclusive (check). It is hard to find any other sedan available in the US that can rival this car, in fact it hard to find ANY car in the US that rivals this car overall. I have the Coupe version as well and prefer the Sedan for its higher comfort factor over any marginal gains the lighter, shorter coupe version might provide. Unfortunately, this car wasn't cheap to purchase, and maintenance costs are not inexpensive if kept by the book as I do, but nobody should be surprised about this, at the end of the day its a trade-off I am willing to accept.Jan 05, 2013

The performance is very good,the acceleration is very quick and the breaking system is very good when speeding and very safe when driving it.When proper care is taking , the car can be trouble free for very long time and the gas mileage is up to you how the car is been driven and been taking care. Absolute best car ever made. It accelerates like no other even though it weighs over 6,000 pounds. Brakes are a strong as then can be and it handles better any my uncles Maserati. Build Quality wise I have never had a single issues, ever except for the ABC suspension which died because of a personal issue. Appearance wise nothing can come even close because I have the AMG package. Cost of ownership is high, its an S-Class you have to have money to have one. Fun factor, nothing is more fun. Premium automotive experience in my opinion. Everything about my S500 screams quality and performance. I am pleased with the mileage although I made a mistake by changing out the OE wheels to add some stylish (not garish) 20" color matched wheels which caused me to have to change out the tires once a year at $1200 a clip. Aside from that and some pretty costly maintenance I am very pleased with this vehicle.Jan 04, 2010

First and foremost, V12 5.5L Bi-Turbo. 0 to 60 faster than you can scratch your back. Rides like a luxury Mercedes with all the options you can think of. From heated/cooled/massage all seats to auto-leveling and one-touch start. Braking, handling and fun is also promised with this car. However, all this puts a lot of load on your bank account. Cost of maintenance is extremely high. The smallest parts (such as a washer level sensor) could cost you hundreds of dollars. Also, wouldn't recommend this if you're big on the whole nature thing. Gives about 8 mpg. Appearance is fairly good with the standard package and gorgeous with the AMG package (as it adds 19" Benz wheels and AMG body kit) Overall this car has it all: Power, looks, luxury and reliability. I bought a certified pre-owned 2005 S430 from someone returning it from a 3 year lease and it is still the nicest car I have ever owned. The last 4 cars I've owned were all new ... Lincoln LS, 2 Avalons, and an Infinity FX35, and this 3 year old car blows them all away. My father-in-law would allways insist on travelling in his Town Car until he rode in the 'Cedes. Now we take my car everywhere and instead of insisting on riding up front for leg room, he insists on riding in the back seat. I sneak it up to 80 or 90, and they never know.Apr 06, 2009

This car is absolutely breathtaking. Acceleration is lightning fast, and almost too comfortable. The handling in sport mode feels just how a sports sedan should- nimble and tight. The brakes are probably the most impressive performance attribute, they stop quicker than you should ever have to. The car is built very solid; I was rear ended by a camry going 25 mph and the bumper was only bent. The car completely absorbed the shock of the crash. The sleek lines of the amg styling are gorgeous and get looks all over town. The cars two downfalls are gas milage (about 12 mpg, 10 for spirited drivers), and the smoothness. You may ask how could smoothness be a downfall? Well, during times of rapid acceleration, you gain too great a confidence from the ride and lose your sense of speed, which is kind of scary. Design Looks like a Mercedes from a mile. Doesn't look like anything else on the streets. Performance The 3.5L v6 engine makes this cars move pretty fast. It would move better with a 5.0 V8. I also believe that the breaks installed are not strong enough. It could be better and safer if Mercedes had installed -at least- the 4 pot Brembo-made callipers. Handling is AMAZING, if you make a minor mistake, the car will correct it. If the mistake is more serious, the PRE-SAFE system will make sure your body is in the best position for the up-coming crash. It will change the settings of your sit, the distance between your sit and the steering wheel, prepare the safety belts and after the crash it will unlock doors and turn on the alarm light. Please don't try to go fast on a narrow mountain road... You'll most likely get killed. Build quality. Looks and feels stiff and German made. Once you are over the shock caused of quality and luxuries inside this car, then you see that they used the same quality plastic parts, Mercedes uses in cheaper models. And you just know that after couple of years you will hear them on each and every bump. Extras The list of extras is of the same size with a phone book. You can order anything! Night-view assistance, orthopaedic front seats, rear-seat entertainment system, massage seats, climate-controlled seats.... ETC If you can afford them... get them all!!!
