Enjoying this car. Class-leading power even beyond its more modern equivalent models. Offers some luxury features like power tilt and telescoping steering wheel not currently available throughout most of its class. The cruise control is simple to operate and adaptable for long highway drives. While the vehicles lacks some of the more modern tech, the aftermarket upgrades now available exceed what the factory offered during the original model year such as backup camera and Android Auto/Apple Carplay. The boxy architecture, weighted, well-planted drive gives the feel of a miniature G-Wagon which was the original design intent. So far, its looking like an excellent used car value with considerable more power and luxury features compared to a same model years Audi Q5 or BMW X3. Sep 23, 2024

I love this car and all the features. IT is not a large model which I did not want. IT is easy to maneuver and to find a parking space. IT is a good riding car, smooth and quiet.Jul 16, 2024

The GLK is a well built, solid, powerful, serene vehicle to own and drive. The GLK needs more room for backseat passengers. The Lincoln MKC is comparable for power, driving characteristics, comfort and has a bit more space in the back seat. Jun 11, 2024

While this car doesnt have all the bells and whistles you can typically get on an ML/GL wagon, its a very nice compromise between the smaller GLA series and the ML/GL. Its based on a C Class sedan, but taller. I personally think the styling is superior to the newer GLC model that replaced it, somewhat reminiscing of the larger G-Wagon, with its sharper angles.
Reliability is very good, having had another one before this, I can say its one of the more reliable SUV, especially when compared to the AUDI, BMW and Porsche.
Handling is good, performance is good considering it is a 5000lb car, the 302 HP motor gets you going in a hurry.
One word of caution: If youre considering the 4Matic, think twice; reliability is not as high as the RWD version, and the repair cost are higher due to complexity.
Comfort is good up front, the seats are good with good lumbar support. Back seats are good as well, but leg room depends on how far back the people upfront move their seats. If the front seats are all they way back, theres very little leg room in the back. Cargo room is not as large as the ML, but its substantial, and if the back seats are folded, it more than doubles.
FWIW, We used to have two ML 350s before, but my wife opted to trade the last ML in for a GLK, because it was easier to get in and out of, and more maneuverable around town. After the last GLK was totaled by a fire truck, while parked on the street, we opted to get another one just like it.Jan 29, 2024

They are great little cars for two people. Gets a little tight for more than two adults. They drive well and are pretty sporty and quick. I tow my motorcycle and its little trailer with mine. I get 19 to20 miles per gallon in city driving and 25 miles per gallon on the freeway. Mine is the 4matic all wheel drive model. I have never had any major issues with my 2013 and my mechanic told me they are one of the most reliable cars Mercedes-Benz has made recently. I have 135,000 miles on mine.Nov 11, 2022

Best SUV I have ever driven. Very smooth ride. For a 2012 with 122,500 kilos on it, we got it for a great price. Highly recommendFeb 19, 2022

The GLK is a fully equipped SUV with the comfort of your easy chair and the power of an expensive sportscar.
Others may perform almost as well and be similarly equipped but they will falter much before the GLK . Mar 17, 2021

Good at all tasks. Great at most that matter on the highway. NAV not dependent on GPS (which means it works in covered parking garage). A quiet ride, good usable technology that you don't need a computer scientist to understand or use. Great handling, brakes & acceleration.Jan 11, 2015

Awesome vehicle overall. Very comfortable, well laid-out interior. Instruments easy to read and controls very intuitive, well thought out. Cold, cold fast and efficient A/C. Great looking, stylish without being flashy. Plenty of power. Good view of the road, front and back and sides.Aug 24, 2013

Car is a great smooth car. Best small size SUV on the market in my opinion. Great value with the MB reliability, stylings and name. Black on black with aluminum interior trim. DVD/NAV premium audio can't be beat. Really no complaints other than the size of cargo area. Dec 19, 2012

This is my wife's car, and she loves the Mercedes vinyl "Tex" interior for its durability and ease of cleaning. She prefers it to leather and it does look great. Mileage for her has been around 21-25 mpg, which is what we expected for such a heavy vehicle. The forthcoming diesel GLK will be better, but we expect to keep this vehicle for a very long time. The V-6 engine is wonderful, and the 4-wheel drive gives a huge sense of security in rain, snow or ice. But if you want to haul cargo, a bigger SUV is better.Jul 17, 2012
