The style is attractive, it is roomy with 3 rows of seats, some 2007 Pilots have AWD or 4WD (great for mountain living), back up cameras, etc.
I am looking for my 3rd Honda Pilot -great cars.
My 2 big dogs ride comfortably in the second seat...great fun.

Car has a nice tight turning radius, rides smooth and has a strong engine that will get up and go when pulling out onto the highway. I was slightly disappointed in the fuel economy, and the seats stain rather easily and would not clean as easily as I would have liked.
We took our Pilot on many vacations and really enjoyed the trip.Sep 11, 2014

Had this pilot for 8 years and it's been great for us. We use it camping, long trips, around town, and for some off-road. We bought it with 95k miles and it has 183k now. Very little maintenance costs or problems.Apr 06, 2014

We drove our Pilot for 8 years and put 151k miles on it. It drives very well, and the seating capacity is great! The OEM tires last a long time, but their wet traction is horrible. I replaced with Michellins, and they are 10 times better. Fuel economy is good for an 8-passenger car. The reliability is typical Honda. The car never broke down or left us stranded. Repair costs are reasonable. Buy your factory parts from a Honda dealer online and save a ton of money.Sep 26, 2013

Great functional and safe. Wonderful for the whole family.
Cant say enough good things about it. I have never had a single issue with the Truck since the day I had other than routine maintenance and fuel.
Very happy customer.Apr 26, 2013

There is nothing to dislike about this car. It looks great, it is a great family car for hauling the kids with all their equipment and the rear fold down seating (3rd row) is a bonus we have used many times. It may be a little cramped for adults for a long trip, but not bad for short ones. The second row of seats is plenty roomy. Good driving in all weather. Extremely reliable car.Feb 22, 2013

This is truly a wonderful vehicle that I have owned for 3 years . It has many added features including alarm system and a back-up camera. It looks great and the maintenance cost and fuel cost is low. The new owner would be very pleased!May 10, 2012

A great car to take on a family trip. It is extremely comfortable with enough room for a large family. It also has a lot of cargo space for long trips. It rides really smooth and quiet, even large bumps seem dull.Mar 22, 2012

This is an all around great vehicle. My family and I feel very safe in this car. We travel a lot and it is very comfortable and has plently of cargo space. I think for a vehicle of this size the gas milage is fair. Very nice to drive. The only downside is there is some road noise when driving on the highway.Feb 25, 2012

Honda Pilots are well known as vehicles that
are well built and perform better than most of
their SUV competitors. Better acceleration and
ride; better fuel economy. Better repair
history. Consistent styling that allows an
older model to retain its value. An SUV is NOT
expected to be fun to drive - but this sure
beats driving a mini-van!Dec 07, 2010

Great family car. Lots of room to put a bunch of people in. Haven't had any problems with it so far, and it has 70000 miles on it. Powerful V6 3.5L VTEC engine makes it a quick SUV. Doesnt look big on the outside, massive on the inside. Good quality leather. Fun to drag race against other SUVs in its class, cuz it usually wins. decent gas mileage, especially on the highway. Accelerates from 0-60 in 8.1 seconds. Braking is ideal. Makes a nice ignition sound.Sep 05, 2009

My white 2008 Honda Pilot is a great car. It can be a little
noisy on the highway and a little tight on space for lots of
luggage, but past that the bad parts end. The leather is top-
quality, the seats heat up right away, the doesn't get too hot
during the summer, and the car has lots of style. Though it's
been updated (read: up sized), I like this older '07 and '08 Pilot
better than the current version. Overall, it's a superb car.Jul 01, 2009

Great overall vehicle. Great gas mileage for the SUV class. Plenty of room in the cabin for the driver and passenger. You can really stretch out on a long trip. Have taken cross country trip with the car loaded and it handled great and power was still there. Can fit 8 people in this ride. Back seats fold down, I fit my 47" flat screen in here when I bought it. Back compartment where head rests can be stowed is easily made into a nice little tailgate accessory, just add ice.Jun 27, 2008

So, I drive a 2004 Honda Pilot EX. This car is simply great. It has a 3.5L VTEC V6 engine that produces 242 horespower and 240 lb.-ft. torque. For an SUV, the Pilot is quick. It will do 0-60, and to qoute Car & Driver, "well under 8 seconds," in the low 7s. It handles extremely well, also, for an SUV. It has very accurate steering and has that smart all-wheel-drive system that has the car all-wheel drive during acceleration and cruising, then while breaking, it switches to front-wheel drive. It has four break disks, one for each wheel, so the breaking is very good. There is botton that puts the car in "super" 4x4 mode, when really stuck in mud or something, or scaling a really steap slope, but be carefull with it, Honda very strongly recommends not to go over 20 mph in that mode. A very smooth ride with LOTS of room inside. It has a fold-away third row seats, so it holds up to 8 people if needed. The dashboard and counsel are very nice, there is the SAT/NAV option (i didn't get it, though), it has dual front seat warmers, seperate climate controls for the front seats and back seats, DVD entertainment system in the back that is optional as well (i do have that), 6-disc changer option (don't have that), and a bunch of other bottons that do various things as well. It is a very comfy ride, great for long long trips, and for short trips as well, from nice, comfortable, leather seats (optional) to the great DVD entertainment system (optional), to the 3.5L VTEC V6 and the smart all-wheel-drive system, it is a FUN car. Also, it gets pretty good gas milage, roughly 26 mpg on the highway and roughly 22 in the city. I highly recommend the Pilot. May 27, 2008

After years of looking from afar, I recently purchased a 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L. A good friend and my sister each have one (a 2003 and 2006), so I knew the product was solid. I was not expecting to be so impressed with it that I would purchase one hours after my first test drive, but that's what happened.
The exterior of the car is beautiful. It is a very large and wide automobile, yet somehow Honda has packaged the 2007 Pilot to look smaller and more nimble. It drives nimbly as well, giving the driver a commanding view of the road from up high. But I digress-back to the exterior. The Pilot I purchased has roof rails, a nice silver grille, and foglights. These blend in beautifully to the beige-colored exterior.
The interior of the car is just wonderful. In 2001, I test-drove the Pilot's luxury cousin: the Acura MDX. I have kept up with those SUV's ever since, and could not detect a difference between the two, other than slightly softer leather on the steering wheel of the MDX.
The EX-L comes standard with leather seats. I wasn't sure I would want leather seats, as I live in Florida and sweaty legs on leather are icky. However, the car cools itself down so quickly, you barely notice anything. The console is efficient and blends well. Two solid cup holders contain various size beverages. There are two power outlets in the console, in addition to a rear-facing one next to rear-facing climate controls for the back seat.
The navigation system is a lot of fun. At $2000 extra, I wasn't sure this was something I needed, as I have enjoyed a portable Garmin C330. However, this navigation is voice-activated and also provides a camera for when the Pilot is put into reverse.
The third row of seats is easy to install. While obviously not as comfortable as the bucket seats up front, the third row is passable for adults, and would definitely satisfy any children. It cuts out sharply from the available cargo room, but I don't plan to use it too often.
I loved driving the Pilot. It accelerates very quickly and smoothly. In city driving, I was able to pass cars coming out of lights and going at a steady speed (much to the delight of the salesman in the backseat. =D) The navigation was easy to use, though I must admit I was disappointed when I said, "Find nearest restaurant: ice cream" and it popped up with Thai food instead. I'm guessing these are kinds that will be ironed out as I learn to better enunciate (and realize what options are available). Oooo! And the EX-L also has a system that shuts down three cylinders once a steady speed is attained. It shows a little "eco" light on the dash, encouraging the driver to keep that little light on and save some gasoline.
As for the negatives, the biggest one for me is the width of the body. While it's great for comfort and stability, it makes it very difficult to back the car into a narrow garage (yes, I'm reaching for the negatives here).
Even though I already knew the 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L would be a great product, it has surpassed my expectations. It has quality and luxury everywhere one looks, and excellent safety ratings to boot.Apr 16, 2007
