Good dynamics is another positive. Back in the day the rear wheel drive Corolla was no slouch when it came to handling and driving dynamics and was known as competent performers, especially in SR5 specification. The SR5 had additions such as a 5-speed manual, bolt on fender flares, wider wheels and tires, stiffer suspension and various cosmetic goodies. Combine all that with a peppy 1.6L overhead valve hemi head engine and you have a good foundation for a fun little corner carver for not all that much moneyJun 07, 2012

Missä lienee nykyään. Ostin kun sillä oli ajettu 90tkm ja ajoin sillä 70tkm kahdessa
vuodessa! Kumma että rahat on riittäneet bensaan;) Hyvä auto ei mitään vikoja
koko aikana. Kuvassa alla mazdan vanteet, jotka ostin koulukaverilta. Antenneita
oli joka nurkassa siihen aikaan;)Apr 15, 2012

but nice for family whenever we go to our village on the way the way is very
rocky slippery but it goes calmly, when it would be repaired it would be best car.Feb 01, 2012

I have TWO corolla's, and some NOS parts that I am willing to sell together as a package deal for $1000.00 The first two pics are of the manual trans car which has the best body, pretty straight with minimal rust. Will need some work in the battery area from battery acid leaking. The third pic is the 77 with automatic that is all original with factory emissions in place and runs great just needs fuel pump installed that is included. has had some crappy body work done and has rust in the lower rear quarter panels. Would not take much to swap some parts an get it on the road. I will be glad to start it up for you to hear .. Check this out http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/1976_Toyota_COROLLA+E-5_117755646 Car's are for sale locally, first buyer to put cash in my hand gets it all. Sweet car, I bought it because it was rare, plus it was only 2k, sold it for
4k. I had to install like new spark plugs, set timing, cat controller, and a
few other things. but there was nothing like that clutch.. so smooth. Jul 31, 2011

Good Condition
3 TC motor, Stage 3 clutch, traction bars,
motor has no leaks.
EXTRA PARTS: wind shield, headers, 38 mikuni
carburetors (good for core charge on a set of
new ones), at least one set of extra rings and
caps for SR5 rims and other miscellaneous trim
pieces.May 14, 2011

Slow, really slow, I think it was a 1.2 litre carburettor motor, probably about 20hp ... Stayed in 1st gear until 80km/h, then onto its second and final gear! I managed to max the speed out at 125km/h, downhill. Looked like a mini muscle car and I loved the pillarless doors.Jul 25, 2010

My first car - a blue slantback 2-door E/5 with a white vinyl roof panel. Had a terrific, smooth 5-speed transmission, comfortable bucket seats, handled beautifully, very peppy with the 1.6L engine and got 35+ mph on the highway. It would go up to 70 easily, and up to 85, wih a bit of straining (not bad for a little 4-cylinder). One of the sexiest cars I've ever seen, solidly built, easy upkeep and a joy to drive. Unfortunately, it wasn't built for the east coast, and by 1985 it was rusting out under the driver's door, into the frame and everything. Sold it to a kid for a couple hundred, but I still miss it.Jul 23, 2010

This is an amazing car, i had the 1600 sprinter that came out with thwin carburetors. The handling is absolutely amazing. Being such an old car it has its ups and downs. Should i get another one i would not sell or swop it even if you wanted to give me a SL55May 06, 2010

Well for starters its a pretty old car.Having said that i gotta be honest that this car has not failed to impress me.Its got the looks of a mean machine.I have added on some minor mods to the exterior like rims, an extractor, tinting, racing stripes bee sting antena and da likes.got a decent cd player with mediocre speakers.Have not done anything to the engine yet.its a work in progress and i am confident dat da end result will not fail to impress.Oct 21, 2009

I like the light feel of the steering. The engine is a 1300 but has a nice crisp sound to it. RWD make's the car real fun to go dirt drifting. seemingly unbreakable motor and gearbox. done over 250k with no trouble.
I dislike the availability of parts for this car, panels are not an issue, but the little detailed items such as interior are hard to come by. As it is getting older it is getting more and more rare.
Great car to look at. It is a Coupe my model. 4 speed manual. great fun to drive am always smiling even in the event of road rage.
Mileage is great being a 4 cylinder, 400 kilometers to a tank of 40 liters. Maintenance not much required, just your usual service. which you can do your self because the mechanics are so simple to work on. you cant stuff up hehe Jul 14, 2009

i miss my old car, it was the first car i spent my own money on. never had a problem that a match book couldnt fix. I lowered it and had chrome and gold mods handled like a go-kart.
I beat the hell out of that car and the only thing i ever put on it was a clutch slave cylinder.Jun 07, 2009

The KE20 Coupe was the cheapest, most reliable car that I could never kill. Had a re-built 1300cc and 5 speed in it that used to get it going. Even though it was small it made up for its in its steering and doing dounuts. I rate this a fun car!Sep 15, 2008

The car was originally an automatic vehicle with a 1600cc engine. When I received the car it was a bare shell which was a good thing as I can build it to suit my needs. What I liked is the rear suspension that came with the car was the bigger pumkin which made the handling much better once the modified 2000cc engine went in.
The one thing I did not like was the amount of body work required to bring back up to my standards.
The car was just alot of power and fun to drive, I would recommend it to anyone especially now that drifting is a sport, the ideal car for the sport.

It was butt-ugly, but hey, wheels are wheels! I remember always traveling with a case of gas-line antifreeze in the back, since it would constantly get air in it and die in the most inconvenient locations. I think I sold it to a boyfriend's little brother. Jun 27, 2008

It is a durable car for Sudan climate and previous tough roads, with low cost maintenence and low fuel cosumption. It works in Sudan for a long time for taxi service.
I decided to buy a used one from a freind but I have to see some information about the engine and suspention to help me in cheking and reconditioning work ,,, Thank youMar 19, 2008

I completely gutted the interior (to make it faster), painted it cherry red, with a front and rear spoiler kit. I ripped the motor out had it bored .60 over added a cam, headers, and some webber carbs. I believe it pushed around 160bhp!Jan 05, 2008

These Corollas were the very definition of cheap, RELIABLE, and economical transportation. This was the beginning of the end of Detroit dominance.Jul 10, 2007
