Great extra vehicle. 4x4 is the same as Wrangler, however the Wrangler would be 5 times more expensive used. Great Home Depot mobile. You can buy almost anything to dress it up. I put on alloys and larger tires and a roof rack . Looks pretty cool !Oct 26, 2012

I bought this for $300.00. Guy said it needed new transmission i said ok and found out it was a vaccum hose wowowowowwo......what a deal i got....its a BEAST!!!!!! Hope all can find a deal like me..... Its a dream to drive and floats like a cloud on the road. I am restoring so if anyone can help send me links to this Cherokee Chief.....DanMay 05, 2012

This car is so fun to drive, sure eats the gas though. But it's sure worth it. My Chief is special because of the vear, and it has the original blue tweed seats, light blue dashboard, runs like a champ.Feb 24, 2011

with over 250,000 on the clock this beast still fires on the 1rst light it goes where u tell it and in my state its still considered a station wagon the rust is a pain but i am a part of the rust belt so its to be expected as long as this battle wagon has life in it it will always be welcome in my drivewayJul 01, 2010

Well, it a 1977 thats been sitting for 15 years....duh it needs repairs. But after 15 years, I spent $30 and the 360 V8 fired right up. True American made. It is in very good shape for 15 years, and with a Warner T-18 4 speed, it is quite rare.Feb 06, 2010

THIS IS A FULL SIZE JEEP this is a solid vehicle with a V8 360Cubic inch big block engine. Quadratrac wide wheel base Black exterior, black with blue inserts looks good perfect off roading vehicle. THIS one need some tlc.Nov 06, 2009

Its Rusty but she holds up with a Dana 44, all time 4X4 with emergency 4X4 option for off road. I am getting ready to repaint it and restore the interior. If anyone knows of a good site to find body parts and stuff I could really use the help. I just bought this jeep for 500 from a guy and it has been sitting in a field for 12 years. but it still fires up. email me at rlgaf@yahoo.com Jun 28, 2009

It's not a Cherokee, obviously- it's an 82 J10 Laredo shortbed, but CAR IQ doesn't recognize a J10. I love it- it's just plain COOL, and turns a lot of heads. People either love the colors or hate them, and no, I was not drunk when I picked them out. 2004 Jeep Wrangler Electric Lime Pearl/2007 Dodge Charger Plum Crazy, 1973 AMC Classic Black, and 2008 Hummer Fusion Orange. When I was 7, my grandpa got the 401 cubic inch four barrel version in the Sun Orange option. After he passed away, grandma gave it to me. Well cared for and with only 63,000 miles on it, this is a rare classic beauty. Almost all of the 63,000 miles were off road, though you'd never know looking at it or driving it. At the ripe old age of thirty, she handles interstate speeds, goes four-wheelin, starts up and idles beautifully, shifts flawlessly, burns no oil, and still has a nice glossy shine on the original sun orange paint job. I recently drove it from New Mexico to Louisiana nonstop, and other than a replacement of the original alternator, it drove just like it was new. I will be restoring the well worn interior as close to original as possible, but the engine and exterior need virtually no work at all. Jan 08, 2008

AMC Electronic Ignition unreliable, switched to Ford system that was used I believe starting 1978 to resolve that, but hard to deal with the rust. Don't know where AMC was sourcing their steel, or perhaps the fact that the paint didn't adhere well and bare metal on underside of body panels. But an awesome drivetrain when it is running, and I love the looks, definitely stands out from the crowd, especially with 4" lift and 33" tires. Sep 27, 2007
