Very solid luxury SUV with full AWD. The diesel is very efficient with fuel, but the overall maintenance costs makes is a 4 star rating, as service schedule intervals are going to cost at least $2k / yr. Reliable and safe, with lots of towing or hauling power, as well as very roomy interior. If you can still find one (diesel) I would highly recommend it, especially if it has been properly maintained over the years.Aug 15, 2022

This is a flagship Mercedes Benz! It has room for 3 Jazz musicians & their gear including an upright bass. I regularly achieve over 1000+km on a tank of diesel fuel! Safe, reliable & one of the most enjoyable vehicles to drive or ride in. Well maintained they will run for over 1,000,000 km no problem. Engineered by smart people who care about their work. We really love the car. Maintenance is expensive - if you use the dealer. Parts can be also - but eBay. amazon and other sites have mitigated that. Runs about 17 miles to the gallon on average with about a 320 mile cruise range and when you burn premium - as this must - that is important. Drove it for 250 miles during snow/ice to get family to safe ground. Used the paddle shifters and had no problems maintaining control while others around us slipped and slid all over the place. Will probably get another one around 2025....'cause at this price it has to last a while!Mar 31, 2015

Mercedes really showed the amount of effort they put into their vehicles with the GL450. The craftsmanship and style is incomparable to that of, say, Audi or BMW. The power is ridiculous and the off-roading is crazy! If you can get onto a highway with little to no traffic and put the pedal to the metal, you will be appalled (in a good way!) by the utter power and force of the car! You get thrown into your seat, but that only lasts a second, then you just fly! You feel like your driving a supercar, but then you realize that you are in one of seven smartly made, stylish, and comfortable seats, all perfectly cocooned in a beautiful and spacious luxury sports utility vehicle, and a Mercedes-Benz nonetheless!Aug 08, 2013

This is a really nice car, beautiful lines, great comfort inside the cabin. Super smooth transmission, no hesitation when you give it the go! Easy to drive, very efficient control area for phone radio, nav... Gas mileage 15-18. It is a great car to drive and also to be a paasenger in, really comfortable seats. Love the power fold 3rd row seats. Great amount of cargo area.Feb 03, 2013

I wanted a family car that was not a van; something that we could comfortable go out as a family with. This car has not disappointed at all. The kids have more than enough room in the back, the car is big enough so you can see pretty much everything around you, and it has more than enough power to go around. The back-up camera is a must-have because of its size, and the car overall is very comfortable.Jan 31, 2013
