I owned an identical car for 14 years and the only real issue I had in 14 years was a drive train. Tough and dependable!Feb 02, 2024

Purchased used with 65k miles and being a one owner with all the service history this thing should last me forever. Great all around sport utility thats fun to drive and does it with ease. Ours is the all wheel drive model with 2.0l and has plenty of power. Handles well and has very good brakes. I guess my only complaint would be the lack of a passenger side arm rest which is a very minor issue. Overall another great honda product.Jan 07, 2015

The Honda CR-V is extremely reliable. No major problems since purchase in 2001. AWD works great and it is roomy for its size. it is not the most sleek and stylish vehicle on the road, but it is worth the tradeoff. Would highly recommend to anybody.Dec 22, 2014

I love this little car its always gotten me where I need to go. I've had a few problems with the starter going out and a few oil leeks but I have got them fixed though I keep my eyes on it especially since it is an older car. The handling and brakes have saved me from more than one accident and I am very grateful that it has good brakes and handling, the four-wheel drive has come in handy too. This car has been an amazing first car and I have had no accidents in it, I'm not sure about the people who had it before me but it has done great with me. Overall I give it four stars, it is an amazing little car and I hope who ever has it next will take good care of it.Dec 16, 2014

I love this car. Not really anything I dislike about this car. I just want to upgrade to a newer year but I do love this car. Never had a problem with it at all. I would say for a first car for your kid this would be one you would want to look into.Mar 11, 2013

This car has all the important components of a dependable and practical car. Handling could be better but wider tires make a big difference. Gas millage is very good and if you are used to 4 cylinder cars this car will never feel like it lacks power. It also drives and handles very well on dirt roads. Feb 22, 2013

This car is used for shuttle service at RM Automotive in Northridge. Customers love the option of getting a ride home and this fits the need perfectly. 4 door, easy to get in and out of, and comfortable to ride in. Great car!Mar 22, 2012

Very good work commuter and overall run about SUV. Very good fuel economy, 25-26 MPG all the time. Handles very good in the snow. I have the 5 speed manual transmission. Low cost of ownership. Would recomment the Honda CRV to anyone.Jan 16, 2012

My CR-V is a great runner and handles very well on any kind of road. It has only needed a few wear-and-tear repairs. Looks great both inside and out. Gets great gas mileage. Fun car to drive. Overall it's very reliable.Jul 11, 2011

Terrific gas mileage. All "wear and tear" parts replaced and car has been very well maintained. A fun, safe and dependable ride. The AWD was great during the snow and ice. Hey! It's a Honda, what more can you say?Apr 06, 2011

The breaking system in this car is the best in a vehicle I've ever owned, or driven. The build is solid...gas mileage is excellent. The interior and exterior are great...highly recommended for anyone looking for a small SUV!Mar 22, 2010

It's wonderfully reliable. The all wheel drive kicks in right when I need it which is often during these Northeast winters. For a V-4, it's pretty zippy once it get going at highway speed.
I would definitely recommend this vehicle to friends and family.Jan 07, 2009

My dad got it for me back in 2004 with 117k miles on it. It has 160k on it right now and it will go on for over 200k, it's expected of a Honda. The factory AM/FM tape deck and speakers didn't sound that great so I got aftermarket replacements. It's not spartan inside, but it doesn't have anything you don't need.
It is very reliable, I haven't even needed a new battery yet. Most of the repairs I've needed are minor things like new tires, new front brakes, new spark plugs and a new radiator. The only major repairs I've needed are a new A/C compressor and receiver/dryer, a new motor mount, and the idler pulley bolt broke off in the engine block (getting the bolt out cost $90). The A/C will occasionally cycle on and off and isn't as cold when the car is stopped. The following repairs are pending, the in-dash clock went out, the leaking window seal in the front passenger door has caused the lock actuator to not work sometimes.
As for performance, it's a four cylinder station wagon, so it's nothing to write home about. It gets me where I need to go. Since it's the base model it doesn't have ABS or traction/stability control. It's very simple, less parts means there are less things that can break. It has a 4 speed automatic transmission. This is nice since I spend a lot of time in I-485 traffic. The engine is loud on the highway, due to poor sound insulation and high rpm (2800 @ 65 mph). Also the road noise is very noticeable, rough roads are really loud. It can be hard to drive on wet roads. Spinning the front wheels is easy due to the way the transmission is geared. The brakes might lock up if you try to make a tight turn quickly on wet roads.
I think it's fun to drive, but driving it in the rain might be hard for new drivers. I get 22-23 mpg in the city and up to 26 mpg in highway driving.
As for styling, it's not a head-turner. There are lots of these cars where I live, I see a few of them every day. It's very functional, it has ample space inside when you fold the back seats down.
I would definitely recommend it to a friend. It's a great family car if you have 2 kids and haul lots of cargo. Sorry I was so long-winded, it said to be specific. Nov 30, 2008

Perfect all-around car for the common user. Extremely low maintenance. This car is in no way considered a sports car, however it has responsive steering. No mechanical problems in the history of my ownership. The car is amazing in winter if you drive it like its a FWD car. It'll surprise you...

Awesome car!!! Haven't had any trouble out of my CR-V, well, except for the flat tire, but that doesn't count. The appearance both in and out of the car is superb. The gas mileage is great, almost 35 MPG highway. This Honda is so much fun to take in the mud; has performed in some cases better than a Jeep. An all-around great car.Sep 09, 2008

Acceleration is somewhat lacking for it's size, but not terrible. Handles well on most terrain, brakes perfectly.
No repairs needed so far. Interior and Exterior in immaculate condition. Gas mileage is abut 25 city/28 highway. Nice-sized car for city driving but big enough to carry a few bikes in the back.Aug 26, 2008

Perfectly sized vehicle for a small family. Only fits 5, but nice and spacey and fits a lot in the trunk! Same chassis as as the civic so easy to park yet still has a lot of room.Mar 31, 2008
