I had a 2005 for four years. If I was not able to do regular maintenance and minor repairs on it, I would not recommend it for the owner who is not mechanically adept enough to do repairs. It is an outstanding vehicle with lots of great features but needs constant care. Unfortunately, the hydraulic timing chain adjuster on mine came loose out of the block which caused the timing to slip which damaged the pistons. It was a sad day when I sold it for parts. Having owned a string of L322 chassis Range Rovers throughout the years, from the early BMW-engined ones to the Jag 4.4 and 4.2 Supercharged variants, I had been eager to get a 5 litre Supercharged in the stable so when a 2010 S/C Autobiography popped up in Galway Green (a unicorn), I had to go for it. The first port of call was to replace the timing chains, tensioners, guides and variators with the latest uprated items from LR so as to avoid any catastrophic engine failures, along with a full replacement of all fluids, filters, wiper blades, etc..and since then, the truck has been everything I hoped it would be. Plenty of power (510bhp), improved handling thanks to the VDS suspension system and as always, unparalleled ride comfort and amenities for the passengers. Fuel economy actually isn’t terrible (~20mpg on the highway) and of course, winter performance is what you’d expect. All in all, a great truck, make SURE you either buy with chains already done or else budget for replacement right off the bat. Change the oil every 5K miles, not 15K miles as the factory suggests, and keep up on the other regular maintenance (strong battery is a must, so maybe even replace that right away if you don’t know how old it is) and it’ll be as reliable as anything else you’ll find in this segment and age. If you can affoard it, this is an un-forgettable experience... Acceleration, handling are second to none. Riding through traffic is easy and makes commuting more fun. Powerful brakes. The Audio system is the best I have heard, so far. Navigation is easy to use and equipment is high quality. Premium material are used inside and out. Well designed thick leather seats. Maintenance is more expensive than most SUVs, but worth the trouble considering how much more performance and confort you get.Oct 23, 2014

Land Rover Range Rove HSE, Amazing Car. Well built and amazing quality. Very very powerful for a SUV/4X4. You wouldn't think it would be that good off-road, but it is better than my Land Rover LR4. I would recommend this car to anyone and as well as any other Land Rover, I have had many myself; LR3, LR4, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Freelander, Freelander 2 and Defender! They were all amazing cars but unfortunately I only have this one left.Jul 09, 2011

For a big vehicle, the range rover has terriffic performance, the model i own can also function in sport mode and once you step on it the whole v8 engine takes off. The noise levels are very low, once you are inside the car you seem totally immune to what is happenning outside the cabin. The sound system is fantastic and seems like a studio,it has a harman kardon system that is just COOL! Its quite expensive to own but once you have it, the envy from passers by makes up for that......In my country, Nigeria, there is a shortage of qualified mechanics that specialise in range rovers and that makes it relatively expensive to maintain, i have even had to order an electronic component from the UK once. Having owned a 2006 toyota 4runner, 2002 Nissan pathfinder, 2006 toyota landcruiser and still own a 2008 ford escape.......the range rover is a whole new experience in Jeep ownership....Its a perfect blend of luxury and ruggeddness.....When driving the car you feel like passing through anything and the ride still manages to remain smooth......AMAZING!Apr 25, 2009

The SUV has 400hp and 420lbft of torque with that much power you can't go wrong. The stereo is much better than most high dollar after market systems. It has screens in the headrests and a 6 disc dvd changer in the trunk. The vehicle also has an air ride suspension that allows you to raise and lower the height of the vehicle for things such as getting in and out off road driving and high speeds.Sep 29, 2007
