We really like our new to us 2015 Fiat 500. Besides a couple of door dings, missing rear headrests, and only one key FOB, the car seems to be in great shape. Jun 18, 2024

the car is very popular in other countries I have visited so I was interested to buy one. The battery on this electric model is not large so you get only 75 miles and you have to be cautious.May 25, 2024

I LOVE my Fiat even though I know that it has some issues. Its fun to drive and zippy. Fiat does need to improve on the design of the door handles, the arm rests and the fact that nothing is a cheap and easy fix. I bought mine new in 2012 and have never regretted it. I just passed it down to my daughter because I have a 2015 500e.Apr 24, 2024

The Fiat 500 is wonderful for the city. Fun & Easy to drive! So convenient to find a parking spot with this little gem! Great car for the single, unencumbered free spirit.Oct 15, 2023

Car is reliable, very cheap on gas, easy and fun to drive. For tall drivers I’d suggest to avoid sunroof, as you will be scraping you head on the roof. Flat roof gives you more room.
I’d never try to put an adult in the back seat, decent for kids, but I use mainly for daily commute and short errands.Aug 21, 2022

Sound system and Bluetooth capabilities with voice commands are great. Car handles really well and cruise control is smooth. Love the digital gauges, seats are comfortable, and the leather interior stays clean. USB ports are convenient. Back seat is small but ok for short trips. Overall driving experience is superb and it feels good to be surrounded by safety airbags. Jun 25, 2022

I currently have a 2021 Ram 1500 and 2018 Chrysler 300S that I bought new. I bought this 2013 Fiat 500 as a “beater” to go back and forth to work only. I’ve owned it about a month and keep making excuses to drive it. It is TINY. If you need space for 3+ people or large bags, this is not the vehicle for you. If you’re 6’3” or under, you will be surprised how much room there is. I have as much headroom in this as I do in my full size pickup truck. This car is almost 9 years old and everything works as it should. Also, be prepared to get looks from everyone, especially if you’re a 200 pound guy. So many people smile and give thumbs up to this tiny thing, it’s a blast!
If I could change one thing about this car it would be more horsepower. If you want to pass someone you have to commit well in advance because even floored, this thing is slow. But I am coming from two vehicles with 400hp Hemi engines so maybe others will be fine with the slow acceleration. This thing is definitely quick and nimble on the back roads once you get it up to speed though.
I’m very happy with purchasing this car and plan to add an aftermarket head unit to add Apple CarPlay and navigation. Dec 25, 2021

I was more than surprised at the acceleration after reading a few negative reviews. I’ve driven V8’s for years. When I hit the gas to get on the freeway, it had more than enough power to hit 70 on the on ramp. Overall, the car is a lot more than I expected out of that little 4 cylinder! At around 35mpg on the automatic model, it’s the perfect 2nd vehicle to my 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban! Highly recommend you drive it before you listen to everything you read. I pick it up this Friday!Jun 03, 2021

This car was actually great. It was perfect for me which is why I bought it. This little Fiat 500 is the Abarth model created with a performance package: Turbo, enabled braking system, responsive handling with tight steering, dual exhaust. It has leather performance driving seats and the car is about as close to a rally car there is. It takes corners quick and clean. Acceleration is very good in the 5 speed manual 1.4 liter vehicle and then when the turbo kicks in, hang on! I really don’t have an equal comparison to make but this car fits like a glove, actually has a surprising amount of space for driver and front passenger. It’s a cabriolet/convertible as well and just is so much FUN to drive on the interstates, country roads and just cruising around town. I can’t stress the word FUN enough either. I just love it. Seems like everyone that owns one feels the same way. It’s a beautiful little Italian job. Mar 22, 2021

I liked it a lot. It was well-maintained and did not look like an 8 year old car. I had some difficulty getting the driver’s seat in a comfortable position. But I’m thinking that could be improved Feb 01, 2021

The Abarth is the most fun Ive ever had in a car. It has been very reliable and more dependable than my BMW or GTI. I like the fact that its unrefined, it actually doesnt feel sterile and is all about the motor and driving experience. Get one before they are gone, I think that they are going to be a classic much like some of the old Alfas.Aug 21, 2020

The car was everything I expected. It is peppy and fun to drive. Has great space for being a small car. Brings back memories of when I was younger and drove a sports car

I have owned the Fiat 500 Pop for a year now. I bought it as strictly use as a commuter car. I have put over 28,000 miles on it in that time. Best commuter car ever, 42+ mpg avg.
On my last trip to the NC mnts got 45.5 mpg on cruise @ 67mph 600 mile trip. dislike about this car? I drive mostly inter state highway to get to work, It is nice and quite and feels very solid. I don't get blown around when a truck goes by me.Apr 24, 2015

Overall I love the this... it's my new baby! It's cozy inside but doesn't feel cramped, and I like the base features: the radio is great, bluetooth phone support, basic HVAC works great, etc. OVerall I'm really pleased with this and it's a BLAST to drive, especially in sport mode. :-)Jan 24, 2014

We like it so much we bought a second for our daughter. It's the next best thing to being in Italy. You won't mistake it for a sports car as it's not the fastest thing on the planet but it is fun to drive and good looking.Aug 20, 2013

These are such wonderful little cars. They're so much fun to drive. They get great fuel economy and the styling is surprising given the price. Heated leather seats, fixed glass roof, premium Bose audio system with satellite radio. They feel like little luxury cars. Some people don't like tiny cars but if you do then these are perfect!Jun 18, 2013

So my wife had been asking me to look at the new FIAT 500, I was really down on the idea of owning a FIAT 500. I had seen them back in 2009 when i was living in Italy and they were cool but didnt really interest me.
So the one day we were driving past the dealership and i asked if she wanted to go look at some. She said yes so we went on our journey. We were walking around and there were a few that were nice and the salesman asked if i wanted to take a sport non turbo out. So we took it out and i was really surprised how nice it drove for a small vehicle. Nothing super impressive but I liked the idea and i thought it was nicer than my mini cooper that i had.
So we get back and we are looking around and the salesman asks me if i want to look inside the Abarth. Me, being a car guy said, 'yeah lets do it.' the interior was amazing, i was really surprised on how the car really was developed with the beats audio system and all the other toys. it felt like a micro race car. I start to walk away and the salesman said you didn't even hear the best part....
???? He started it up, and all i heard was this deep throaty sound, reminiscence of miniature Ferrari, all i could think was 'how did they make a 1.4t sound like that' my heart dropped and i couldn't believe it.
So we are very specific people owning over 30 cars in the last 15 years, we wanted the white one with the red seats. We search the lot and no luck, so we are really disappointed, well the salesman says, 'wait we have three in the back in a garage.' So we walk in and there it is the first one in the room with three. White with red interior, so we are about 90 percent sold at this point, well we were going to lunch to think about it and they told us to take the abarth and get a good feel for it.
Well lest say its on my list of cars i own. It is a great vehicle and my wife has been getting 40+ miles per gallon in it, which is way higher than what it claims it gets.
This is a truly special car, and right now we are restoring our fiat x1/9 to resemble this beautiful piece of machinery.Jun 15, 2013

Performance is not earth shattering but for a small and economical car, however it punts along eagerly and is very capable at motorway speeds of 70-80mph with enough ooomph to overtake when needed.
Engine is smooth and very quiet for a diesel and gearbox a joy to use. Inside the cabin, you'd actually think it was a petrol model. Handling is stable at all speeds, the cornering very confident and steering direct and detailed. Having previously driven Focuses, the 500 does not disappoint. Ride can be a bit bumpy on certain British A- and B-roads but it's not annoying.
Build quality is excellent - apart from a few hard plastics here and there - the interior controls and steering wheel are excellent in touch and operation, stalks are chunky and positive. Leather teering wheel is chunky and great to hold and has audio controls. The doors shut with a lovely heavy thunk similar to a new Focus or Golf.
The looks is what the 500 is all about. It looks absolutely fantastic from any angle and the Sport model with it's roof spoiler, chunky tyres and tinted windows looks particularly squat The interior is such a pleasant place to be in, the details are lovely and theres so much storage. Space is amazing in the front for me (6'5" tall) - I actually have to pull the seat forward to reach the pedals. Two adults can sit behind me when driving.
Cost of ownership is the main reason I bought the 500. The petrols are very economical but the diesel takes it to a new level. Road tax is laughably cheap (20GBP per year as opposed to 245GBP for a petrol Focus ST) and the economy varies between 46mpg for urban short runs to 72mpg on steady motorway trips. Mar 27, 2012

this car is the perfect urban commuter. It will get you from point A to point B with some style and class that no other car in the american market offers to date. It is fun to drive. It's 101 horses are just enough to carry this light weight commuter with a little pep and zing. At the base price point you cannot find another make or model that offers all the options that Fiat delivers (bluetooth, leather interior, AC, power windows/locks, mp3 player, excellent sound system, etc.). I haved owned my new 2008 Fiat 500 now for a few months and it's adorable!
It's the first Fiat in years - actually, make that ever, that I've really liked the looks of. It is a head turner. The dash is one of the car's most unique points. Interior and exterior styling is fantastic and there are tons and tons of options to go for. Alloys are a must, but stick to the smaller ones for better handling.
Okay, economy wise it's fantastic. Mine is a 1.2 petrol and has been averaging 40 mpg in the town (although I do stick it in 5th gear whenever I can to go easy on petrol). On the runs I've had out of town it's returned about 55 mpg. Tax is lowest band. Insurance is really low. Performance is fine for engine size, but not quick. Ideal for town or city driving.
The car got a 5 star NCAP rating, which is excellent for it's size.
Gear change is one of my gripes, could be more refined. Also steering wheel makes a subtle, but annoying, ratchet type noise when turned. Seat position is a little high, although I'm 6'2". Rear seating is 'snug', but I rarely carry any passengers. Front has plenty of cabin space. Another gripe is that the windows seem to freeze up inside during sub zero temperatures, modern cars shouldn't really do that.
That aside it's really fun to drive (though not as good a drive as the MINI). It does, however, look better than the MINI (Jeremy Clarkson's words, not mine). It's also truer to the original 500 than the MINI is to mini.
Absolutely fantastic value for money, if you're not too crazy with the options, you simply cannot find a better - or cooler - car for the money in the UK. Jan 02, 2009

Performace - nice acceleration, very good brakes, handles the curves very good
Appearance - interior and exterior are great looking
Cost of Ownership - the car spends 7l per 100km in city, 4 outside the city
It is a real pleasure to drive. Makes people turn around to see your car when you pass by them . :)Nov 10, 2008
